Hypnotherapy for Fears and Phobias

A fear or phobia can feel completely irrational. You know it’s not logical, yet your body reacts as if your life depends on it. Your heart races, your breathing changes, your stomach tightens, and your mind tells you to get away, now. You’re not overreacting – your nervous system is.

LEARNED PROTECTION

Your brain linked something with danger to keep you safe.

THE LOOP OF FEAR

Each reaction reinforces the belief that the threat is real.

MODERN SURVIVAL

Your nervous system responds to emotional danger like physical danger.

GENTLE INTERRUPTION

Hypnotherapy helps your body experience safety where fear once lived.

SAFETY EXPANDS

As your nervous system relearns calm, the world opens up again.

From a Human Mismatch perspective, your brain is doing exactly what it evolved to do: keep you safe. But the context has changed. Instead of wild animals or physical danger, it’s social triggers, flights, needles, or situations that make you feel out of control. Each time your body reacts, it confirms to your brain that you were right to be afraid, reinforcing the loop.

PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

WHAT FEARS DO YOU HELP WITH?

Flying, driving, needles, animals, sickness, heights, claustrophobia, public speaking and anything that limits your life.

CAN HYPNOTHERAPY WORK QUICKLY FOR PHOBIAS?

There are five stages of addiciton recovery,Sometimes yes — but we follow your pace, not a programme.

DO I HAVE TO FACE THE FEAR IN THE SESSION?

No. Your system needs safety, not shock.

WHAT IF I DON'T KNOW WHY THE FEAR STARTED?

Most people don’t — it’s usually a protective response gone rigid.

IS IT EMBARASSING TO TALK ABOUT A FEAR?

Not at all. Fear is a human survival pattern, not a flaw.

WELCOME

Welcome to my website, a space where I try to catch your eye, and explain the heart of my practice.

My journey over 17 years has taught me that true knowledge isn’t about the letters after my name or the timeline of my academic pursuits (though you can read more about them here). It’s about the stories shared, the moments of vulnerability, and the human connection that transforms both you and me. It’s holding space, listening intently, and noticing the patterns within your words and emotions. Together, we can navigate the complexities of life, embracing both the shadow and the light. So, if you’re seeking more than just a quick fix, and ready to make lasting changes, you’re in the right place. Let’s embark on this journey together. Please keep scrolling to read some of my blog posts on fears and phobias or click and read more about my approach here.
